Bianca Allison, MD, MPH, a health researcher and MyVoice collaborator, recently discussed the results of a MyVoice poll as an expert panelist for a webinar hosted by PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philidelphia. The virtual conversation brought together leading pediatricians, researchers, and experts in HIV care, STI testing, and contraception to discuss how research can include youth perspectives in understanding their reproductive and sexual health needs and support access to services.
“14 to 24 year olds across the country are very aware of the changing landscape of abortion and they can name specific policies that have gone into effect…They’re not shying away from these conversations. They’re getting a lot of information online including social media, but they are discerning about focusing on trustworthy sources like governmental or clinical websites,” said Dr. Allison in her presentation.
