MyVoice’s first academic paper was published recently in the Journal of Medical Internet Research – Research Protocols. The paper discusses the unique methodological approach that we are taking to connect youth voice to leading decision makers through the use of text message surveys, participant recruitment via Instagram and Facebook, and mixed methods approach that relies on a team-based approach to survey design and rapid prototyping, as well as a bland of  more traditional qualitative data analysis with novel natural language processing (NLP) techniques. You can read the full-text paper for free (thanks to Open Access) and read/share/republish this brief press release version.

The development of this first paper was led by MyVoice research methodologist and adolescent health researcher Melissa DeJonckheere, PhD, currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Michigan Medical School in the Department of Family Medicine.
